News from the PTR : PvP set bonuses change all around
First, sorry there’s been little in the way of posts lately. My Shaman finally hit 70 and its AV weekend, so you can guess where I’ve been spending my time
So it will just be some quick tidbits today on these PvP set bonus changes.
Now onto these changes, I am sure many are aware of them already and they may not be final yet, as they seem to be adjusting them according to feedback.
The big one is the removal of the movement increase for restos and moonkin. I consider this a buff for moonkin (Your Wrath casts have a chance to reduce the cast time on your next Starfire by 1.5 sec), but definitely a nerf for resto, thankfully Blizzard saw their error and put it back for feral druids. Now before they changed the sets so you received bonuses no matter what season gear you wore, I did arenas without the bonus. Its definitely something noticeable and it takes time to adjust to. This combined with the drinking change will definitely bring Resto Druids down a few notches in arenas. While the .2 seconds off of Regrowth is better than the .25 off of Healing Touch originally added I still hope they may change it to something more useful.
The paladin change is another up for debate.
4-piece bonus on all season healing sets (Redemption) has been changed to “Reduces the cooldown of your Hammer of Justice by 10 sec.” to “Increases the healing from your Holy Shock spell by 30%
Many Holy PvP Paladins spec into Imp Hammer of Justice, reducing the cooldown of HoJ by 25 seconds with the previous bonus. HoJ is a great defensive ability and perfect for locking up a healer at just the right time. However, 30% is a good chunk of healing for the only instant heal Paladins have on a fairly short cooldown. It still won’t compare with Swiftmend or Prayer of Mending as far as quick healing goes, but it gives Paladins a more viable option to avoid getting locked up. I think this is something I will have to see for myself to evaluate how I really feel about it.
The last isn’t a healing set change, but many Resto Shaman go Eemental for pvp so I’ll mention it
4-piece bonus on Vengeful Gladiator’s Thunderfist now Gives you a 50% chance to avoid interruption caused by damage while casting Lightning Bolt. (Was 70%)
Another nerf. Granted Elemental Shaman are capable of incredible burst and because of that they are often the target of focus fire. This is a pretty big blow to them in 5s.
That’s it for today, again sorry for the lack of content, plan to be back on track this week! ![]()
